MCP-Server

What it looks like in practice

Once Slog is connected, your assistant can do the things you would otherwise click through in the app. You can simply ask:

  • “Log 3 hours on the Acme redesign this morning.”
  • “How much time did I spend for Acme this week?”
  • “Create a project called Website V2 for the client Acme.”
  • “Move yesterday's afternoon entry to the Support project.”
  • “Fill in my Friday based on my usual working hours.”

Your time entries, projects, clients, teams and working hours are all reachable this way. The assistant reads and writes the same data as the app, with the same permissions: it only ever sees what your own account is allowed to see.

The only thing you need

One address, the one above, to paste into your assistant. It then asks you to sign in to Slog, exactly like any app you would connect to your Google or GitHub account. You approve once, and that is it. You need an active Slog subscription, and nothing else.

Connect it to Claude

  1. Open your Settings, then Connectors.
  2. Choose Add custom connector.
  3. Name it Slog and paste the address above.
  4. Click Connect: a Slog page opens, sign in and approve the access.

Slog then appears in the list of your connectors, and you can start asking Claude to track your time.

Connect it to ChatGPT

  1. Open your Settings, then Connectors.
  2. Create a new connector and paste the address above as the server URL.
  3. Sign in to Slog when prompted and approve the access.

Depending on your plan, custom connectors may live in ChatGPT's developer settings. The address to paste stays the same.

Connect it to something else

MCP is an open standard, so the same address works with any assistant that supports it — Cursor, VS Code, Claude Code, Zed and many others. They all ask for a server URL, sometimes called an MCP server or a remote MCP server, and they all handle the sign-in for you.

You stay in control

  • You approve the access. Nothing is connected until you sign in to Slog and say yes.
  • You can cut it at any time. Revoke an assistant from your authorized applications, and it loses access immediately.
  • Your data stays yours. The assistant sees your entries, your projects and the teams you belong to — nothing more.

Need help?

If something does not connect, or if you are not sure where your assistant hides its connector settings, write to us and we will walk you through it.

💡 Good to know

You can connect Slog to several assistants at the same time. Ask ChatGPT on your phone, Claude on your laptop, Cursor while you code: they all write to the same timesheet.
